| Geek Chopper- DISCONTINUED Here's why |
|
| The ‘Geek Chopper’, as I call it, came out of the realization that there are limits to the speed of steering a trike with handle bars. Simply put, a trike can’t lean to steer at high speeds like a bike can. When you put the Tri-Hybrid technology on a bike based vehicle great things happen. All of a sudden speed that was almost impossible to control becomes smooth and easy. That’s why we limit the trikes to 36 mph but we’re putting out the Geek Chopper at 54 mph. Yes it will go 72 with 96 volts and higher gearing but do you really want to go 72 mph on two bicycle tires? Of coarse we use high speed, 100 psi, tandem tires, with heavy duty rims, spokes, and axle for the Geek Chopper, but they’re still bicycle tires. Besides, don’t you have to still be a little crazy to want to go 54 mph on two bicycle tires? It’s a rush, to say the least, and you can still get 300 mpg or better.
The standard Geek Chopper will be 4 batteries at 48 volts and 36 mph. It’s EF version, [EF for Extra Fast] will be 6 batteries at 72 volts and 54 mph, and an ED or Extra Distance version can only be offered at 48 volts with 8 batteries. Other options will include the CVT transmission, SL or Street Legal package, and a regular sized wind shield. [Not the full body windshield we offer on the trikes] |
